As promise some photos the room is well underway now and the progress has gone really well.
Thank you to all that turned out for the weekends to make it happen at last.
Our project manager for this was Mr Bob Lane M0RWL without Bobs input this would have never got started cheers Bob from all at the Club for your hard work and chasing about.

To help celebrate the centenial of the formation of the RSGB, the club will be activating the Call Sign “G100RSGB” during the month of March on the following dates: 1st, 5th, 8th and 12th March 2013. We intend to be active throughout the noted dates, and hopefully working on which ever Bands are open to UK operations.
When the club is transmitting, the club camera will be active so that you can monitor who it is that you are talking too at the other end of the ether.
Logs for the Special Event Station will be submitted within 24hrs of the end of the activation to the RSGB who will then upload them onto their online log.
We look forward to working as many people as we can with the SES, but please be patient. We will get around to you when we can, and WILL look out for QRP stations.
200 Years of Lifeboats at Spurn Point, Humber 2010 Finale Luncheon
Well as you may well know some of our members got tickets for the Luncheon, and to show our support and thanks to the crew.
Thanks to the Humber lifeboat crew, the Luncheon went very well indeed,
we were made to feel welcome once again by the crew who spoke with us all one by one about the weekend and how we did it and if we enjoyed it, they enjoyed having us there.
One of the Crew has invited us to all go up in the summer for a barbecue, we will try and make this an event I am sure.
We made a donation from the club and bought a year of history thanks to all members that dipped in we raised 80 pounds.
I know also other members have bought years also making our total for the station 155.00 pounds not bad for a small club well-done guys.
As you will see by the photos the Luncheon was packed out, Andy G7LRR, Bob M0RWL, and John G6LNV,
presented Superintendent Coxswain Dave Steenvoorden and the crew,
with a thank, you letter and a framed photo with a little write-up on it as you can read.

It great day out maybe next time more will come to such events, by the way, Dave Steenvoorden and crew for the 200-year anniversary
along with their supporters raised over £65,000 for the station on the 200th anniversary.

Hi guys…..
What a great weekend was had by those that attended the GB2HLS station on spurn point.
Around 600 stations were worked together and the majority were in the u.k and British Isles this is what it was all about, putting the R.N.L.I into the public eye and be part of the 200yrs celebration of the Humber lifeboat.
Amazingly we had around 3,500 hits on qrz.com!!!that’s an enormous amount of visits to achieve in a short time….thanks to Andy (G7LRR) for doing a smashing job on the qrz.com page, it certainly had plenty of information!!!!.
We also had around 250 hits on the M0HFC site on qrz.com so that’s good as well.
We had Radio Interview on Radio Humberside with Helen Philpot (The Philpot Files)
We certainly left the Humber lifeboat station on a ‘high’ as to say, and are pleased to announce that we have been invited back next year to do a similar event but with more of a fundraising appeal if anyone would like to try and get some sort of sponsorship through there works or business this would be great!!!.
Facilities were provided by the R.N.L.I station (shower, toilets, kitchen, sleeping accommodation) and a fantastic visit on to the lifeboat where we were shown around by different members of the crew explaining the different types of equipment available….thanks to them!!!.
Also, a thank you to Karen (Dave Steenvordens wife) for the interview-type conversation I had with her regarding their lifestyles and everyday life as a WAG!!! (lifeboat man’s wife!!!) and to all the rest of the wives for putting up with our invasion of the station.
This was a great event to be part of and I hope we have many more with these guys down there and for those who could not attend….book your days off in advance for next year!!!!
