Patrick’s, M1CBC Antenna Day

Saturday 10th October saw members of HFDXARC down at Patrick’s M1CBC QTH .

With bacon butties on offer the gang soon was busy getting the antenna’s and coax runs sorted.

Charlie 2E0CIK was soon on the roof putting up a 2m collinear antenna that John M0JBA had put together along with a halyard for the wire antenna to go to.

At the other end of the garden was Monkey boy lenny M6LRR up a big tree making a anchor point the other end of the off centre dipole.

The day was all successfully completed and contacts made on hf bands to boot.

Saturday night operating GB0FP 2015

After the start of GB0FP Event this year on friday night, the team did really good with over 600 QSO in the log and over 150 DXCC worked, morning saw the bands very poor and due to lack of daytime operators this year and the night team needing sleep, we close the station down during the Day, but Saturday night has seen the Night team start off with great results and the HF band DX wise are buzzing, Trevor G1TDN, Kevin 2E0KVK, Marcin M0GLV / SP4BHD, G7LRR Andy having great fun tonight, lets see what the morning brings.

GB0FP Get’s Under Way

GB0FP International Museums weekend get’s under way with a quick replacement last night of the coax on the 3 element beam before we started.

Then the fun begins on the airways, 40m was very active with the guy working around 80 contacts within a few the first hour.

20m on the other hand was very busy with the Guys on the Night shift Kevin 2E0KVK , Sean 2E0SCA , Steve 2E0NSQ and Andy G7LRR. Most of us faded out around 2am but Sean was on form working all way throughout the night until 5am this morning working around 260 QSO, Sean inform us he worked bicycles Mobile in the State side.

Three more to pass there intermediate exam

Congratulation to Jon, Ian and Daniel on passing the intermediate exam well done guys from all at the Club.

All three had signed up to the course and have worked hard under the tuition of Bob lane M0RWL and Mike Zubrzycki – G4PYW , we all know Bob was really pleased for the guys to pass as this was Bob last year of training, Mike will now be running the courses and we hope for many more passing and enjoying this great hobby of ours.
