Hull girl guides on the air (TDOTA)

HULL GIRL GUIDES ON THE AIR (TDOTA)

After our successful evening of education about Amateur Radio

with the Cottingham Girl Guides late last year.

Humber Fortress DX A.R.C will be activating a VHF and HF station as part of TDOTA with the support of the 53 rd Guide group Hull, on Saturday 18th February, with a planned activation time from 13:00 – 16:00.

The Call sign will be MX0HFC/A operating out of the Cottingham Road Baptist Church on Chanterlands Avenue.

World Thinking Day on the Air (TDOTA)

TDOTA 2012 will be the 3rd full weekend in February 18 & 19
TDOTA is an opportunity for the members of the Guide Association from the youngest Rainbow to the oldest Trefoil Guild member to talk to other members of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts all over the world via Amateur Radio.
The 22nd February is Thinking Day because it was the birthday of Lord Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of the Scout and Guide movements, and his wife Olave, who was the first World Chief Guide.

On this day each year members of WAGGGS (World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts) remember the founders of the movement and take part in various activities to think about their sisters throughout the world.
