Mobile shack arrives at the Humber Fortress DX A.R.C
The Humber Fortress DX ARC has taken delivery of their mobile radio shack which replaces the old caravan.
The mobile unit is an ex-B.T. box workshop which is trailer mounted, and boast’s enough space for up to 3 radio stations. Beforehe onsetthe of bad weather, the trailer was stripped down to the carcass and is already for fitting out as the new mobile shack.
Work will recommence once the plans are finalized on the internal layout, and the box is ready for remounting onto the chassis.
The funds to purchase the mobile unit were raised by the club members in the form of donations, a club stall at the recent Hornsea radio rally, and items donated and sold on eBay. So to the members, we thank you for a great effort.
The events calendar for 2012 is busy and I am sure that this mobile shack will be a great asset to the club and again endorses what we are about: Active radio; Promoting and enjoying Amateur Radio.
We will post more pictures as work progresses through the build.
Cheers…Simon…Vice chairman…..H.F.D.X.ARC
