Field Day and contests also our events are excellent times to pitch in and build an HF station from scratch in the field, where one must improvise and leverage every advantage from the terrain around. Similarly, at our periodic outdoor gatherings, one gets to see and operate a big pile-up of stations calling you, and you learn new skills on how to log and pull stations out of the hundreds calling in very quickly it’s great fun.
